Does ejaculation weaken a man’s health?
Q: I believe that ejaculating fluid during sex weakens a man’s health. But sometimes when I have sex, I ejaculate even though I don’t want to. How can I learn to control my ejaculation?
Dr. Klein: Ejaculation does not weaken a man’s health. It is a normal physical process, one of the ways the body reduces the buildup of tension during sexual arousal. Man are often tired after ejaculation because they have just exerted a lot of physical and/or emotional energy. You can learn to enjoy this state of satisfied fatigue, and can share it with your partner.
There are many folk traditions that attempt to limit ejaculation, such as tantra and carezza. For more information about this, consult a book like Margo Anand’s The Art of Sexual Ecstasy, or the World Wide Web.
