Faking orgasm

Q: How do you know if a woman is faking orgasm?

Dr. Klein: There really is no way to know if a woman is faking orgasm. Anyone can make the sounds or movements that indicate a climax, even when they feel nothing. Do you have a particular reason to be suspicious? If so, talk about this directly with your partner. If you simply want some reassurance, ask for it. If you have no reason to be suspicious, assume that a woman’s orgasms are genuine, and enjoy them.

Why do women and men fake orgasms? Because they feel they need to—for example, to stop sex they’re not enjoying; to prevent a partner from feeling inadequate; or to prevent a partner from criticizing them. It’s really too bad that some people respond to (perceived) pressure by being dishonest–but some do feel like their partner demands it.
