Masturbation effects

Q: After masturbation in the morning, I feel tired all day long. Also, I cannot concentrate well on my job and feel my memory is weaker. After sex with a partner, I don’t have this feeling. What’s wrong?

Dr. Klein: There is no medical reason for this. The body cannot differentiate between sex with yourself and sex with a partner. If you aren’t using drugs or alcohol to masturbate, it should not affect you this negative way—unless you feel guilty, are working hard to hide your activity, are using an unusual position, etc. I suggest you discuss this with a psychologist or physician.
