Almost 100% of pornography shows smiling adults doing things most adults want to (or used to) do. So it’s astounding that anti-sex and pro-censorship groups can so effectively maintain myths like “most porn is violent,” or “most porn teaches men that women are no better than furniture.”
Of course, some porn consumers—including some of my patients—infer unhealthy messages from porn. Some guys think they should have an enormous penis that gets hard instantly, while other guys expect that their partner will climax just from vaginal intercourse with a penis, huge or otherwise. Other guys remain clueless about the need for moisture during sex. Spit. Lube. A little mess.
